Consequently, one tends to think of them as the sister band to At the Gates. Kristian Wåhlin (aka Necrolord) had written most of the music in Grotesque, with Tomas Lindberg writing the lyrics. Lindberg (and Alf Svensson) were out of the picture for Liers in Wait, so Wåhlin became the undisputed bandleader and creative force. He surrounded himself with capable musicians and recorded the “Spiritually Uncontrolled Art” EP.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis record was a brief blast of intense death metal, lasting less than twenty minutes.
